Art School Maa’s second year students’ exhibition "The pit protects a single seed: I broke my tooth on the stone of a fruit" at Museum of Impossible Forms

The Pit Protects a Single Seed, I Broke my Tooth on the Stone of a Fruit

Vernissage on Wednesday, January 14th 18:00-21:00

15-25.01.2026

A pit sprouts by first cracking open,

with a root emerging from the bottom and a stem from the top.

A pit can also refer to a sinkhole…

Step 1: Prepare the pit

Silt will build an underground basilica here. A temple for disintegration.

Step 2: Start sprouting

“A sinkhole forms when underground rock dissolves creating cavities that can no longer support the land above.”

The void nibbles on the walls. Darkness grows and the rotunda arches wide.

Step 3: Transplant to soil

The underground chapel grows till stars appear on the dome ceiling.

Meteors from the concave reveal the light of day, shooting stars.

The corpses of buildings and asphalt fall as the ravenous cavity sucks its edges, gasping for fresh air for the first time.

Step 4: Care for the plant

The central oculus has dilated into a black hole… or a womb.

This is an exhibition by Art School Maa’s second year students.
