Open Call for Exhibition Proposals: Taidekoulu Maa Alumni
Dear Taidekoulu Maa Alumnus,
We hope you are having a great autumn!
Taidekoulu Maa is turning 40, and we are celebrating this milestone in various ways throughout the late autumn. We are planning an exhibition project featuring our alumni, with works to be displayed across a diverse range of locations.
Do you have a piece you would like to exhibit in an unexpected setting?
We invite you to take part in an exhibition that spreads like a mycelial network — reaching wherever you happen to be active.
Would you like to participate in this anniversary exhibition?
Please send us a proposal for the work(s) you would like to exhibit, along with your suggested location. The setting could be any space open to art—such as a municipal library, a waiting area, a community space, a street, a forest, a boathouse, a flower shop… you name it! It would be wonderful if the chosen space had some connection to your own life or daily routine.
What Maa offers:
- Your work will become part of a "mycelial network" — we are creating a map where artworks located across the country connect to form a single, unified exhibition.
- We will assist with communication between you and the contact persons at the various venues.
- We will help you identify a suitable location for your work and assess the feasibility of exhibiting it there.
- We will provide an exhibition label, including a QR code that links to an online map featuring all the works in the exhibition.
- We are able to offer a small exhibition fee.*
- Works can be exhibited flexibly between December 2026 and March 2027.
Please send us an image or description of your work, along with your ideas or preferences regarding a potential exhibition venue, by November 22nd to info@taidekoulumaa.fi. We will begin reaching out to venues in collaboration with you, so there is no need to wait until the deadline.
Inquiries: Viivi Koljonen, info@taidekoulumaa.fi
*The amount of the exhibition fee (€50–€200) will depend on the total number of participants in the alumni exhibition.
This celebratory exhibition is supported by the Uusimaa Regional Fund of the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
