Iona Carmine Roisin (b.1989) is an English artist and poet based in Helsinki. Roisin’s multidisciplinary practice is rooted in the written word, taking the form of moving image, text-objects, poetry and organising. They often work with ‘art about art’, making works that are occupied with the conditions of their own making, that seem to think about themselves. They are a member of the Trans publishing collective Almanac Press and co-founder of Trans Library Helsinki.

Roisin has participated in exhibitions or screenings at Wäinö Aaltosen Taidemuseo, Hippolyte, Docpoint, Pitted Dates, Taidekoti Kirpilä, Porin Taidemuseo, Lappeenrannan Taidemuseo, Tampere Short Film Festival, and their poetry is published or forthcoming in The Rialto, The London Magazine, Tuli&Savu, Propel Magazine and Fourteen Poems among others.

A black and white photograph of a white, fat person standing in front of some New York City buildings and trees. The image has been taken on an analogue camera and is grainy. The person wears glasses, a cap, and a white t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. The t-shirt reads ‘summer of poetry’ and features a selection of classic cartoon characters.
